Yi Quan Athletic Association was successfully established on October 5, 2005, to provide our 20 active members with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, strength, and power through the art of lion and dragon dances.
These performances, which embody martial arts discipline, endurance, flexibility, and creativity, are a testament to our members' dedication and skill.
Our Mission
At Yi Quan, we are dedicated to preserving the traditional Chinese martial art of lion dance, a symbol of power, courage, and justice that requires discipline, skill, and mastery. Our goals are to provide our members with the opportunity to learn and perform this ancient art form, challenge themselves to achieve physical excellence within the lion dance community, empower them to overcome traditional stereotypes and limitations, and foster teamwork and cooperation among all members.

Expansion to Thailand (2014)
Recognizing the growing interest in traditional Chinese arts across Southeast Asia, we embarked on our first international expansion to Thailand in 2014. This move was driven by a shared cultural affinity and a robust support system in the local Chinese community.
Expansion to Taiwan (2023)
Building on our success in Thailand, we extended our reach to Taiwan in 2023. Taiwan's rich cultural landscape and its strong emphasis on traditional arts made it a perfect destination for our next chapter. The Taiwanese audience, known for their deep respect for cultural traditions, welcomed us with open arms.

Worshippers engage these dancers for various reasons. Many sponsor dance performances as a fulfillment of vows made to the deity, expressing gratitude for granted prayers and blessings. Others believe that sponsoring a dance attracts good fortune and positive outcomes in their lives. The dancers also serve as intermediaries, conveying the worshippers' intentions and prayers to Phra Phrom.
